what is love?

There is the love for my family and friends. Its a comfortable feeling, like slipping into a warm dressing gown and a good pair of slippers. Its heartwarming like the smell of fresh baked apple pie on Christmas morning. It brings a smile to your face and warmth to your heart.

Then there is the love of a new person. This, for me, is the love that grows and changes the most over time. Starting off as flame that at times is almost too much to tolerate. Sometimes begging you to cool things off and put out the fire. For the strong-hearted you might see that flame eventually simmer down to something that is more lasting. Something similar to the love of family and friends, but more intense, more exciting and at times invigorating. This love can leave you smiling a goofy grin at the craziest moments, and forcing everyone around you to shake their heads in wonderment at what in the world you find so darn amusing about choosing quality asparagus!

Its a love that sets your heart free and at the same time binds it tight to your beloved. Its a love that brings forth the invigorating feeling of breathing in the smell of freshly fallen rain, and will also leave you feeling cozy and warm like being curled up in your favorite blanket. It'll make your heart beat fast, and your brain move slow. Its an emotion of contradictions, and its wonderfully addicting.
